Irishman's Heart to the Ladies

Sound Files: Slow Fast

I like this jig a lot, we recorded it on a CD several years ago and still play it regularly at gigs. The A part jumps around a lot so I haven't taught it as often.

  1. What metronome setting should this be at? Thanks

  2. The contradance standard for high level dancing and recording is 120 bpm. For a local dance 105-110 is more common, a jam tempo or tempo just for playing at home could be anywhere from 80-100. Irish jams and dances can run faster for jigs, 120-130+.
